Introducing Chef James Olupot, the culinary virtuoso who just so happens to be
our Executive chef with a career spanning over 20years in food and beverage
production. Chef Jame’s journey into the culinary world began in his early years as
a young man born and bred in the district of Pallisa, Eastern Uganda. At an early
age he recognised his love and curiosity for cooking and experimenting with food
preparation and production. He enjoyed the different methods of cooking thus
developing a passion for trying different flavours to enhance different dishes to
create delicious tasty and exotic meals.
Chef James embodies a simple yet stylish craft, valuing hospitality, technique and
the use of local produce. He describes his culinary approach to combining “A
democratic meeting between African and western Cuisine” while using an
abundant selection of locally produced Ugandan ingredients to create
adventurous, simple yet scrumptious dishes. From your “Nyama Choma, Local
Ugandan meals, intercontinental to Michelin star style dishes” Chef James and his
team will keep you asking for more. We pride ourselves in the art of “local
simplicity…” “local is lekker…” showcasing all of the local ingredients as much as
possible”, upholding our philosophy of sourcing local produce and developing
strong supplier, producer and farmer relationships.

passion with the world while capturing and enchanting your tastebuds and taking
them on a wild ride to extreme heights with each individual meal he and his team
prepare. Cooking is a complete artistic process and expression of creating local
flavours with a modern twist for the production of exceptional dishes.
